Making this site into one of the best dive site guides on the web is going to take a lot of work. Specifically, it's going to take a lot of diving. I guess you could say that's the "good news". The bad news being that making all those dives is going to cost a bit of money, and not being Bill Gates, it might take me a while to get to all the sites I'd like to cover.
Fortunately, I've come up with an idea to help move things along. If you're a dive shop or dive tour operator, it involves you. Hopefully, it's a "win-win" solution:
You: Provide me with visits to your dive sites at no cost, or with a substantial discount.
In exchange: I put "This site sponsored by:" on the dive site feature page, along with a link to your web site.
Plus: I put you at the top of the list of dive site operators for your destination.
And: If you have an ad banner, I put it rotation on all pages for your destination.
What's the benefit to you? The web is all about exposure, which translates to more business to you. You may have heard that it's important to have links to your web site. That's true, but there's more to it than just having a link on some site. Some links can be more important than others. A link on a page having dozens of other external links is not treated the same as being the only link on a page, and if that page is about diving on the wreck of the Flying Dutchman, then people searching for information about that are much more likely to find you.
I have more than 10 years of experience writing web sites, and the demonstrable ability to get a high search engine rank for the topics I cover. Search for any major tourist site in Thailand, and chances are you'll find one of my sites on the first page of results, if not in the first position. I'm not going to be bold enough to guarantee you more business, but if you sponsor a dive site, I'm sure you will get more traffic to your web site. Closing the business is your problem.
