Getting to Chumphon

Getting to Chumphon isn't very easy, but neither is it especially difficult. Altough the province has its own small airport, there are currently no scheduled airlines serving it. The closest airport with service is in neighboring Surat Thani province, about an hour to the south. This airport is serviced by both the national carrier Thai Airways as well as budget carrier Thai Air Asia.

Alternatives to flying include the train - not recommended - or bus from Bangkok. Lomprayah, which operates a Bangkok - Koh Tao - Samui bus and boat service, transitions from bus to boat in Chumphon, and you can purchase a ticket for Chumphon only.
